We are looking to expand our clinical team, with the addition of one or two salaried GPs. This is due to relocation of one of our salaried GPs and reduction in sessions by one of the Partners.
Portland Park Medical Centre is a long-established urban training practice in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire. We have approximately 7000 patients and are based in our own purpose-built premises.
We are a 3 Partner Practice, with one salaried GP working with us, as well as GP registrars. We have two experienced Practice Nurses, who are both committed to exceptional chronic disease management, one of whom has recently completed the NMP qualification. We are supported by an excellent reception and administrative team, as well as a health-board employed pharmacist, mental health liaison nurse, OT and community link worker. Our dedicated team works hard together to provide a high standard of patient-centred care.
We are a Vision practice but are willing to support and facilitate training for GPs who have been trained in EMIS practices.
We are a flexible bunch and provide pre-booked and on the day 15 minute appointments - face to face and telephone appointments as selected by the patient. House visit sessions and duty sessions are protected. Duty days are split so you are only 'on call' for half a day.
Indemnity with the MDDUS is covered by the practice. A Golden Hello is available from NHS Lanarkshire for those not previously in receipt of this. We work to the BMA model contract with 6 weeks annual leave (and pro rata public holidays) and 1 week study leave (pro rata as per sessional commitment).
Our staff has developed over the last 2.5 years and we are a young, forward-thinking team who are dedicated to shaping the Practice over the coming years. Salaried GPs who wish to be involved in leading tutorials/training with our GP trainees would be given protected time to do so.
